MY TEACHER

 By Shona Kavanagh

As the teacher stared at me in anger,
She didn’t even blink.
I told her I was sorry,
As it wasn’t my fault I just couldn’t
  think.

The question was solid,
The answer I didn’t know.
I told her this,
But she just replied “So?”

She stared like a hawk,
With her haunted eyes.
And all I could hear out of the class,
Were everybody's sarcastic sighs.

I just couldn’t seem,
To get the answer,
My teacher then decided,
To call the headmaster

My headmaster flipped,
Saying she couldn’t take it anymore.
She eventually just told me,
The answer to ‘Two plus two’ was four.
